New services like physiotherapy, outpatients and hospice care will be offered when Townlands Community Hospital gets its multi-million pound revamp.

Work on the estimated £8 million centre in Henley is due to start in January 2013 and should be finished in the Summer of the following year.

Amber Infrastructure, in partnership with Vinci Construction, has been chosen as the developers for the site.

A full business case for the project still has to be approved by the PCT in June, followed by the Strategic Health Authority in July.

The hospital will also have 18 NHS beds, 12 palliative care beds run by Sue Ryder Hospice as well as a minor injuries unit.

People can go along and see the plans at Henley Town Hall on 24 and 26 May.
