Carrie Underwood is leading the pack!
The Super Bowl LII kicked off Sunday with a video of the 34-year-old singer and Ludacris' empowering anthem, "The Champion."
Underwood has opened the NBC's "Sunday Night Football" show for the past five season, and this time she belted out the motivating lyrics while looking stunning in a silver bedazzled mini dress and singing on a sound stage.
The video, which was filmed last year, according to Newsday, featured images of the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles as they went head-to-head in the championship game.
"The Champion" will also be used for NBC's coverage of PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, according to the Newsday report. The song was first teased in early January during the NFL Wild Card game between the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams.
According to Nielsen Music, sales of the song and video leapt to 16,000 downloads on Sunday, up a whopping 444 percent from the prior day.
Underwood is still recovering from a freak accident that required her to have 40 to 50 stitches. The singer had been open with her fans about getting surgery on her wrist, and recently revealed the injuries to her face in a message to her fan club members.
"There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," she wrote. "It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."
"In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [my husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in," she continued, adding that she's healing but "not quite looking the same."
