13 beach hacks that will guarantee a better beach day

Often, an amazing day at the beach can get marred by sand-covered towels and the fear of getting robbed while taking a dip in the ocean.

That's why we've scoured the internet to come up with 13 easy hacks that will guarantee a better beach day.

Invest in a waterproof phone case, or use a zip lock baggie.

A water-logged phone can really be a downer on your beach day, so it's smart to invest in a waterproof phone case.

If you don't want to spend the extra money, a zip lock bag has the same effect. The touchscreen will still work through the bag!

Use baby powder to remove sand from your skin.

Nothing is worse than being covered in sticky sand that refuses to budge. Baby powder removes moisture from your skin, making the sand fall right off your body. 

Bury your cups and glasses in the sand.

Get a beach vault to protect your belongings.

Nothing is worse than laying on a damp blanket after taking a dip in the water. Invest in a waterproof blanket to to keep your sunny spot dry.

Using a fitted sheet on the beach is an easy way to keep the sand off of your blanket. Simply put your coolers or bags in the four corners of the sheet, and fold it up around them. This will create a barricade that keeps sand out.

Or, buy towels that claim to let sand to slip off easily.

Brighten your hair with a spritz of lemon juice — or just squeeze it into your beverages for an extra refreshing drink.

Bring a kiddie pool so you don't have to worry about your children.

Freeze your water bottles to ensure they stay cold longer.

Everyone knows it's important to stay hydrated during a day in the sun. Freeze your water bottles to keep them cold for longer. Even better, freeze reusable water bottles to prevent pollution on the beach.

Got too much sun? Keep some frozen aloe vera cubes in your cooler for instant relief.

Avoid burning your hands on your car's steering wheel after a day at the beach by turning the wheel upside down before leaving your car for the day.
