The Serbian tennis player not only boasts of his record-setting numbers on the court. He has also invested numbers in charitable works. But his antics lead people to turn a blind eye to it and call him “selfish” and “non-charitable”.

So, recently, a prominent tennis commentator and pundit James Melville hit back at Djokovic haters with staggering stats of his charitable moves. Djokovic contributed to the opening of 49 pre-schools and the training of 2200 teachers. Besides that, he contributed $5.3 million to the Serbian public health system.

He also gave $1.7 million for medical equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also stepped up for the rehabilitation of people after the 2014 floods in Serbia.

All in all the number goes up to whopping $14 million dollars. This has solely gone into the charitable works undertaken by the Serbian tennis star. So it doesn’t feel quite fair that Novak gets all this hate just due to his dominance & wacky antics on-court. Still, things will perhaps take a turn as Djoker heads into the twilight of his career.

Besides that, before his 2023 French Open run, he made sure to lighten up his vibe. He joined some renowned personalities like F1 star Charles Leclerc for a charitable soccer match.

Djokovic hit the soccer ground in a charitable move

Djokovic took part in the star-studded soccer match to raise funds for disadvantaged children. The match featured two teams. Both teams had many sporting stars, notably F1 drivers like Leclerc & Pierre Gasly. While everyone had a lot of banter, the purpose of the match was inspiring & aligned with Djokovic’s charity goals.
